Originally opened in 1910 as Boston Arena, Matthews was the world’s oldest multi-purpose athletic building until it came down earlier this year. For over a century, it has been home to Northeastern Huskies hockey and basketball, and has hosted everything from the original Beanpot battles to concerts, commencements, and historic events that have shaped the university’s identity.
